Lopes and Degardin's academic journey is intrinsically linked to UBI, where they completed their bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in Computer Engineering. The company's connection with UBImedical dates back to 2020, after winning the Health Cup, a seed capital competition promoted by the university's incubator, which led to the start-up's establishment in 2021.
DeepNeuronic specializes in Artificial Intelligence (AI), developing advanced software that transforms standard video surveillance cameras into intelligent real-time analysis systems. The technology understands the context of situations, converting video streams into instant operational data to prevent incidents and enhance security.
Prior to its acquisition by Motorola, DeepNeuronic's solution was already implemented in critical infrastructures such as airports, bridges, roads, factories, and commercial areas, serving clients in Portugal and Brazil.
The awards ceremony took place at the Técnico Innovation Center, in the Saldanha Innovation District, on October 27th. The Entrepreneurship Awards 2026 highlighted achievements in entrepreneurship, technology, and internationalization, emphasizing AI's central role in business transformation.
