The formal handover of the new tractor took place yesterday in Guarda, during a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Sea and the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF). The event was part of support protocols for Portuguese municipalities.
Key figures attended the machinery reception ceremony, including the Mayor of Belmonte Municipality, António Luís Beites Soares, the Minister of Agriculture and Sea, José Manuel Fernandes, the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves, and the Chairman of the ICNF Board, Nuno Banza.
This new tractor will optimize the cleaning and maintenance of municipal lands. It will also contribute to vegetation management and the reduction of fuel load, crucial measures for decreasing fire risk and protecting populations and their property.
With this enhanced equipment, the Municipality of Belmonte is better equipped to act preventively within its territory. The aim is to increase resilience against the challenges of rural fires and safeguard the natural heritage of the county.
This handover represents a significant investment in community safety and forest protection, reaffirming the municipality's commitment to prevention, sustainability, and the valorization of its territory.
