The Terras de Trás-os-Montes Contemporary Art Biennial - Linha da Terra inaugurated, between October 17th and 20th, three exhibitions in Vimioso, Macedo de Cavaleiros, and Vinhais, completing the inauguration tour of a project connecting nine municipalities through art.

The exhibitions, exploring roots, identity, and the relationships between art, science, and industry, will be open until December. The aim is to bring contemporary creation closer to communities and to revitalize the region's cultural spaces, reinforcing territorial cohesion.
The First Secretary of CIM-TTM, Rui Caseiro, highlighted the Biennial's unique character, featuring joint and simultaneous programming across the nine municipalities, emphasizing its contribution to promoting the Terras de Trás-os-Montes and expanding access to contemporary art outside major centers.
In Vimioso, the Casa da Cultura has hosted a collective exhibition of 30 artists since October 17th, curated by Felícia de Sousa, which combines painting, sculpture, and installation, exploring landscape, memory, and the relationship between people and places.
The following day, the Cultural Center of Macedo de Cavaleiros hosted «HOLOCENOSE (+)», curated by Rui Ferro and Marta Lima. This exhibition delves into contemporary casting, exploring the relationships between matter, memory, and landscape through sculpture, installation, and drawing.
Vinhais joined the route on October 20th, with the inauguration of a collective exhibition at the Solar dos Condes de Vinhais Cultural Center. Curated by Agostinho Santos, the exhibition presents painting and sculpture from different generations, reflecting on the places we inhabit and the challenges of the contemporary world.
The Biennial, with artistic direction by Inês Falcão, is promoted by CIM Terras de Trás-os-Montes in collaboration with the nine municipalities. The exhibitions can be visited until December 31st.
