The intervention carried out consisted of providing new infrastructure to expand the physical space and installing lighting, ensuring the necessary capacity for the coming years and conferring greater dignity, comfort, and respect to this place of collective memory.
Cemetery overcrowding is one of the main concerns expressed by the populations. In this regard, the Vizela Municipal Executive has been, since its first term and in close coordination with the respective Parish Councils, creating conditions to respond structurally to these needs.
Investments already made in the expansion of the cemeteries of S. Miguel, Santa Eulália, Tagilde, and S. João, as well as the recent acquisition of land for the expansion of the Infias cemetery, whose project is currently under development, are also part of this scope.
These are structural works long awaited by the populations, made possible by the cooperation between the Municipality and the Parish Council. This set of investments reflects the continuous commitment of the Municipality of Vizela in improving the quality of life of its citizens and in fulfilling its plan for balanced and cohesive development for all parishes in the municipality.
