The initiative, developed in partnership between the Municipality and Braval, will be attended by the Mayor, Filipe de Oliveira, the President of Braval's Board of Directors, Eng.ª Alexandra Roeger, and representatives from the Parish Council of Vieira do Minho. The facility will allow residents to deposit small recyclable and hazardous domestic waste that should not be placed in general waste bins or conventional eco-points.
The Mobile Eco-Center will travel through the municipality's parishes, staying at each location for a defined period, on a bi-weekly basis. This solution aims to bring the service closer to the population, encourage correct waste separation, and promote its valorization and treatment, contributing to reduced landfill disposal.
Among the accepted waste are used cooking oils, small household items such as brooms, mirrors, and toys, paper (newspapers, magazines, books), LED and fluorescent lamps, and small electrical and electronic equipment (mobile phones, remote controls, irons, toasters). Small tin packaging contaminated with products like paints and solvents are also accepted, provided they are closed.
Mineral oils, solid fats, incandescent or halogen lamps, paper bags, or waste exceeding the dimensions of the equipment's openings are not accepted. The Municipality will publish a new schedule of parish visits via its official website and municipal social media.
