The Vizela Municipal Council is executing the second phase of the Vizela Cycle Path project, which will connect the roundabout of Escola Básica de S. Bento to the Infias roundabout, in an investment to promote sport and healthy living habits.

This new stage continues the existing first phase, spanning 2,473 linear meters from Ponte das Cascalheiras to the Escola de Infias. The second phase, currently under construction, includes the extension of the new cycle path from the Lapa roundabout (TMO) to the Fundos roundabout, covering 1,217 linear meters, and the creation of a rest park near the Fundos roundabout.
The intervention aims to expand the urban network for outdoor sports and safe pedestrian and bicycle travel. By creating a continuous pedestrian path, the Municipality intends to encourage daily physical exercise, combat sedentary lifestyles, and provide a safe green corridor for walking and running.
In addition to the sports and public health aspects, the project seeks to remove car traffic from the urban center, reduce air and noise pollution by lowering CO2 emissions, and ensure the elimination of architectural barriers, guaranteeing full accessibility for citizens with reduced mobility.
With the completion of this new section to Infias, the Council reinforces its commitment to equipping the municipality with modern infrastructure that combines sustainable mobility with quality of life, sport, and the well-being of Vizela's residents.
