The city of Guimarães will host, from October 21 to 23, the fifth edition of the Planetiers World Gathering. This international event brings together entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, institutions, and delegations to discuss solutions for a more sustainable, competitive, and resilient economy. Held for the first time in Northern Portugal, the gathering is part of the official program of Guimarães 26 – European Green Capital, aiming to establish the city as a hub for companies seeking new solutions, startups looking for partners and investment, and organizations interested in developing projects with positive economic, environmental, and social impact.
Over three days, the program will combine institutional meetings, business contacts, conferences, workshops, B2B and G2G meetings, and visits to local companies and projects. The first day, October 21, will be dedicated to institutional meetings and contacts. October 22 will feature the main conference and workshop program, while October 23 will be dedicated to visits to companies and projects in the region.
Key themes to be discussed include energy, water management, food security, artificial intelligence, future cities, circular economy, the textile industry, and new models of sustainable investment and financing. The Impact Stage will gather representatives from international companies and institutions to discuss the challenges of the sustainable transition.
Among the expected participants are Mitch Reznick (Federated Hermes), Christoph Langwallner (WhatIF Foods), Carlota de Paula Coelho (B Lab Global), Isabelle Lefort (Paris Good Fashion), Jay Sadiq (FortyGuard), Dora Caria (Landbell), and Marco Galinha (Grupo BEL). Sérgio Ribeiro, CEO and co-founder of Planetiers, highlighted the event's goal: "We want companies to find the solutions they need here, startups to find the right partners, and investors to discover projects capable of generating value and positive impact. It is to create these connections that we bring together people from different sectors and countries in Guimarães."
Participation in the conference on October 22 is free upon prior registration. Paid workshops and a Premium package, including access to specific networking areas and moments, are also available. Information and registration can be found at worldgathering.planetiers.com.
