ADENE is enhancing its involvement in European innovation and development projects, launching new initiatives in energy efficiency, renewable energies, and energy poverty, fostering cooperation with scientific entities and companies.

ADENE is strengthening its participation in European innovation and development projects, with new initiatives in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energies, and energy poverty. These projects promote cooperation with scientific entities, companies, and European counterparts through knowledge and experience sharing.
The proposals submitted by ADENE in September 2025 have now led to the launch of three new projects, starting in September and October, with the Agency for Energy as a partner. The initiatives contribute to addressing common challenges and fulfilling national and European priorities within the energy transition framework.
The projects, with durations up to 2029, include RISE-DHC, which aims to support municipalities in developing robust investment plans for new efficient district heating and cooling systems, utilizing renewable energies and waste heat. In Portugal, the Guimarães pilot will study a low-temperature network using renewable sources and waste heat, with support from ADENE, the Municipality of Guimarães, and the Laboratório da Paisagem.
The RENReady project aims to promote the implementation of Article 18 of the Renewable Energy Directive, focusing on the certification, skills, and compliance of renewable energy installer technicians in the European Union. The project maps national certification schemes, develops digital tools, and creates the foundation for mutual recognition of qualifications among Member States.
EP-MED seeks to create and strengthen cross-sectoral coordination structures to diagnose and combat energy poverty in Mediterranean European Union countries, consolidating existing national observatories in Portugal and Italy and supporting similar initiatives in Spain and Cyprus. These centers will monitor energy poverty and plan integrated interventions.
With these three projects, ADENE reinforces its participation in European cooperation and its contribution to developing innovative solutions in the fields of energy and energy poverty, promoting knowledge sharing and a more efficient and inclusive energy transition.
