CIM Cávado is promoting, from November 1, 2026, for 30 consecutive days, the public discussion of the second version of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of Cávado (PMUS do Cávado).

The Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of Cávado, under development since June 2025, is a fundamental strategic instrument for defining and implementing a more sustainable, integrated, accessible mobility policy adapted to the specificities of the NUTS III Cávado territory. The document establishes priorities, measures, and interventions to improve travel conditions, enhance accessibility and intermodality, promote sustainable transport modes, and reduce environmental impacts associated with mobility.
The Plan's development, coordinated by the company VTM and funded by the Institute for Mobility and Transport (IMT), has involved the participation of the municipalities within CIM Cávado. This collaborative process has integrated the needs, priorities, and strategic guidelines of the different municipalities, ensuring a territorially coordinated approach.
In a phase nearing completion, CIM Cávado considers public participation essential to allow all interested parties to review the document and submit their contributions for its final version. The public discussion period will run until December 1, 2026, and the document will be available for consultation on the institutional website of CIM Cávado.
Citizens, organizations, and companies can submit observations, suggestions, and improvement proposals via email to geral@cimcavado.pt, with the subject line "Discussão Pública – PMUS do Cávado".
CIM Cávado calls for the participation of all interested parties, emphasizing the importance of the collected contributions for consolidating a strategic instrument that addresses the current and future challenges of mobility in the Cávado territory.
