The exhibition, promoted by the Municipality of Fafe in collaboration with the Parish of Santa Eulália de Fafe, presents a journey through the newspaper's life via historical pages, artifacts, biographies, photographs, and other records documenting significant moments, people, and events. The display is a voyage through the publication's history and the life of the community the newspaper has accompanied over the decades.
At the inauguration ceremony, which gathered readers, collaborators, and members of the parish community, the Dean of Fafe, José António Carneiro, emphasized the newspaper's longevity and its role in connecting the parish and the community. He also highlighted that the phrase used in the exhibition's title, '75 years amplifying the voice of the Church,' was inspired by a congratulatory letter from Pope Francis.
Paula Nogueira, Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Fafe, congratulated the Parish on the bulletin's 75th anniversary, emphasizing its importance as a testimony to local history and community life, recording events and preserving memories.
The exhibition also serves as a tribute to all those who have contributed to the newspaper's continuity over more than seven decades, including collaborators, readers, and everyone who has helped keep alive the mission to inform and serve the community.
The exhibition, with free admission, will be on display at the Casa da Cultura de Fafe until December 31st. Visiting hours are Monday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Weekends and holidays require prior booking via email turismo@cm-fafe.pt or the Municipality's website.
