The Municipality of Esposende and Esposende Ambiente have commissioned a project worth €583,000 to upgrade sanitation and renovate streets in Forjães, with a 360-day execution period.

The work includes the rehabilitation of water and basic sanitation networks in the streets of Pires and Barrouco, in Forjães. This intervention will increase the capacity of the wastewater drainage network and optimize water supply infrastructure. It also involves the upgrade of Rua do Barrouco, including its widening, to improve traffic conditions, safety, and public space value.
This project addresses long-standing needs in the parish, representing a significant advancement in basic infrastructure and residents' quality of life. Investment in sanitation across the municipality continues with a progressive expansion to underserved areas, through ongoing planning and investment efforts.
The contract, promoted by the Municipality of Esposende and Esposende Ambiente, is co-financed at 68.59% under the Norte 2030 program, for the operation «Rehabilitation of the water network and expansion of sanitation in Antas and Forjães – Esposende». The initiative also aligns with the objectives of the Strategic Plan for Water Supply and Management of Wastewater and Rainwater 2030 (PENSAARP 2030).
Carlos Silva, President of the Municipal Chamber of Esposende, highlighted the investment's importance for Forjães and the population's quality of life, emphasizing that the works meet concrete needs and prepare the municipality for the future. He reiterated the commitment to continue expanding the sanitation network progressively across different parishes, crucial for better living conditions, environmental protection, and balanced development.
