The measure will allow for remote and regular collection of consumption data, strengthening network monitoring and the capacity to detect anomalous situations. The installation will be carried out progressively by a duly accredited service provider. Affected customers will be informed in advance about the intervention and the procedures associated with equipment placement.
With telemetry, the municipal company will have more regular and accurate information on consumption. The system will reduce the need for manual readings and more quickly identify situations such as continuous or unusual consumption patterns, providing an additional tool for more responsible water use.
The technology is also expected to simplify internal procedures related to reading management, consumption analysis, information processing, and intervention planning. The municipal company thus anticipates a more efficient use of human and technical resources allocated to the service.
The investment, which includes an application to NORTE 2030 with support of 145,913.95 euros, aims to modernize the water supply service.
In parallel, Esposende Ambiente will continue with the replacement of water meters as part of the metrological control of measuring equipment, a legal obligation.
The modernization of measurement systems is part of the company's digital transformation strategy, aiming to improve the quality of consumption information and support more efficient management of the network and the municipality's water resources.
