The Municipality of Barcelos approved today, in a Council meeting, the update of subsidies for the Extraordinary Campaign to Support the Sterilization of companion animals. The measure, aimed at residents and collective entities of the municipality, seeks to reinforce the incentive for sterilization, promoting animal welfare, responsible ownership, and the prevention of abandonment.
Sterilization is considered an important measure to prevent unwanted litters, contribute to animal population control, and reduce the risk of abandonment. Through this campaign, the Municipality aims to facilitate access to this procedure and raise community awareness about the importance of responsible practices in the care and protection of companion animals.
With the updated subsidy table, the Barcelos Municipal Council reinforces its commitment to promoting animal welfare, encouraging responsible behavior, and contributing to a more conscious and supportive community.
