The Municipality of Serpa has secured approval for 15,000 euros in funding, under Portugal 2030, to develop the Local Plan for the Inclusion of the Roma Community (PLICC).

The approved application, under the PESSOAS-2025-25 call, aims to promote social inclusion and equal opportunities. This will be achieved through the participatory development of an Action Plan for 2027 and 2028, involving the Roma community and local entities.
To this end, a Local Platform has been established, bringing together the Municipality and entities from the education, health, social security, employment, and community intervention sectors. They have significantly contributed to diagnosing the municipality's reality and identifying intervention priorities.
The Action Plan is currently under development, with its submission scheduled for February 4, 2027.
