The Municipality of Moura has strengthened its emergency communication channels by introducing an SMS service dedicated to Municipal Civil Protection, enabling alerts to the population regarding risks and catastrophes.

The new SMS service integrates Moura Municipality's existing population alert channels, such as WhatsApp, institutional websites, social media, local press, and the MouraMobile App. The goal is to disseminate information about emergency events and the protective measures the public should adopt.
Alerts can be preventive, informing about an increased risk, or action-oriented, requiring concrete measures during an incident. The SMS service is for exceptional use, intended for situations demanding greater impact and reach, such as the issuance of Orange or Red Weather Warnings, or within the scope of an Action Alert, as decided by the Municipal Operational Coordination Centre.
Messages will be sent from the sender SMPCMOURA and will be free of charge for users. To subscribe, residents must send an SMS with the text 'ADERIR' to the number 927 949 205, or visit the Avisosprociv Moura page (https://avisosprociv.cm-moura.pt/) and follow the instructions.
After subscribing, users can consult current information and manage their profile through the platform. The Municipality of Moura recommends subscribing to this service to enhance information reception during risk situations.
