The Municipal Civil Protection Service of Moura has significantly increased its operational capacity with the recent acquisition of two technological solutions. The overall investment amounted to 18,441.15 euros, aimed at improving communication, information management, and incident tracking conditions, thereby enabling a more effective response to emergencies, protection, and relief situations.
The first acquisition was a Starlink system, costing 1,344.15 euros, which provides high-speed internet access via satellite. This solution serves as crucial communication redundancy, proving particularly useful in remote areas or locations lacking conventional telecommunication network coverage. It is especially relevant in emergency scenarios, ensuring a stable connection even under adverse weather conditions or natural disasters, where traditional networks might experience disruptions or failures.
The Starlink equipment can operate using generator power in case of electricity failure and can be installed in various locations, offering operational flexibility to the Municipal Civil Protection Service.
Concurrently, the Gesprociv – Municipal Civil Protection Online Management System was acquired, an investment of 17,097.00 euros. This platform is designed to support the integrated management of the Municipal Civil Protection activities, allowing for the registration, management, and detailed analysis of incidents, georeferencing of critical points and infrastructures, and providing visual information for decision support.
Gesprociv also facilitates the management of emergency plans, human resources, and Civil Protection equipment, as well as the generation of reports and statistical analyses. It includes a mobile application for field technicians and a system for informing and alerting the public via an online platform and SMS, requiring prior free registration.
Through this investment, the Moura Municipal Chamber reinforces its commitment to technological modernization and communication resilience, equipping the Municipal Civil Protection Service with tools for more informed, coordinated, and efficient action in emergency situations, in line with the municipality's strategy to enhance Civil Protection.
