The municipality of Santa Maria da Feira is undergoing a significant investment of approximately 20 million euros in ongoing works. These interventions, spanning areas such as education, health, social facilities, public space redevelopment, accessibility, and sports, total 15 projects distributed throughout the council.
The works vary in scale, including major investments in facilities and infrastructure, as well as proximity projects to meet the needs of the population. The aim is, at their respective levels, to enhance the quality of life for residents and foster the development of the municipality.
Key ongoing projects include the construction of the Feira Centro Basic School, the expansion of the Rio Meão Family Health Unit, the Mozelos Urban Park, the redevelopment of the Nogueira da Regedoura Civic Center, the Largo do Eleito Local in Escapães, and the Praça de São Miguel and Avenida Dr. Crispim Teixeira Borges in Milheirós de Poiares. The Saúl Fernandes Municipal Athletics Track in Lourosa is also being redeveloped. Additionally, other interventions are underway in various parishes, focusing on social facilities, roads, accessibility, and public spaces.
Amadeu Albergaria, president of the Câmara Municipal de Santa Maria da Feira, highlighted that, one year after the municipal elections, the municipality maintains a strong pace of execution, despite the first year of a mandate typically being dedicated to planning. "We have 15 works underway simultaneously, with an investment of 20 million euros," he stated.
Over the past year, the Municipality completed several interventions, such as the redevelopment of the Monte da Pedreira in Fiães and the Largo do Corgo in Paços de Brandão, the construction of a new roundabout on the Romariz bypass, and the redevelopment of squares and streets in São João de Ver, Mozelos, and Nogueira da Regedoura. Water supply and drainage networks were also completed in several parishes, along with the section of the Uíma River Boardwalks and the municipality's largest municipal gym in Canedo.
Albergaria added that several other projects are set to commence in the near future, demonstrating the volume of investment and the work being carried out in Santa Maria da Feira.
