The Estarreja Municipal Council has approved support of 40,000 euros for the Quinta do Rezende Association to install energy and water efficiency equipment at the 3rd Age Home in Pardilhó.

The financial cooperation protocol was signed on October 24th, coinciding with the social facility's 20th anniversary celebrations. The association's total investment amounts to 49,826 euros, with the municipal support of 40,000 euros, requested through the Municipal Regulation for Support to Associativism.
With 44 residents, the home faces high monthly energy expenses. The installation of this new equipment will allow for a significant reduction in the institution's consumption and operating costs, also contributing to positive environmental impact and the use of renewable energies.
“

"We know that costs in this area are very high and that this type of equipment, in addition to the environmental impact and the importance of using renewable energies in the context of climate change, will allow for considerable savings."

Isabel Simões Pinto · Mayor of Estarreja
The president of the board of the Quinta do Rezende Association, Manuel Garrido, highlighted that the municipal support makes possible a project with the potential for annual savings of thousands of euros on the energy bill.
Additionally, renovation and improvement works have been completed at the home, enhancing the comfort and safety conditions for residents and staff of the Residential Structure for the Elderly (ERPI). This intervention also received additional municipal support of 138,000 euros.
