This international cooperation initiative aims to promote heritage through interpretation, sustainable tourism practices, and local community involvement. Participation is free, requiring prior registration via an online form.
The program begins on October 9th at the Arouca Municipal Library, with afternoon activities in the Serra da Freita. On October 10th, the meeting continues in the Paiva Valley, and on October 11th, it concludes with a visit to the historic center of Arouca. The full program is available for consultation.
Funded by the Creative Europe program, the INHERIT project brings together partners from Portugal, Austria, Slovenia, and Serbia. Over two years, they have worked on developing new approaches, methodologies, and resources for professionals in tourism, heritage, and education.
The AGA – Arouca Geopark Association, as a partner, has participated in training, exchanges, and international cooperation, strengthening skills in interpreting and valuing heritage within sustainable tourism contexts.
The Final Conference will present the results of INHERIT and share experiences, gathering professionals and entities to reflect on new ways to interpret, value, and promote heritage, reinforcing the link between culture, nature, communities, and sustainability.
The event is supported by the Municipality of Arouca and collaborates with associated entities of AGA, such as Clube do Paiva, ECDC Portugal, Escola de Montanha, Just Come, and Why Not On Nature.
