The municipality of Anadia has taken a significant step in its international outreach strategy by submitting applications for Erasmus+ accreditation. The applications cover the sectors of school education, vocational education and training (VET), and adult education, reflecting a commitment to qualification and cross-border cooperation.
The Mayor, Jorge Sampaio, highlighted internationalization as a priority for the municipality's development. Participation in the Erasmus+ program and the strengthening of international partnerships are pillars of this approach, fostering closer connections between people and institutions, and reinforcing ties with territories where the Portuguese diaspora has a significant presence.
The Erasmus+ accreditation will recognize the quality of the municipality's international mobility plan. More than a one-off project, it represents a long-term commitment to internationalization goals and the improvement of educational and training practices. If approved, the accreditations will simplify access to funding for mobility activities, allowing the municipality to focus on implementation and results evaluation.
Opportunities include training courses, professional shadowing, teaching or training missions abroad, involving students, trainees, and staff. The application across the three areas enables an intervention that accompanies individuals throughout their lives, from school education through vocational training to adult education, promoting lifelong learning and inclusion.
The knowledge gained and relationships established abroad aim to enrich the community of Anadia, enhancing the work of local institutions.
