The Ribeiragrandense Theatre served as a stage for discussions on tourism, strategic marketing, innovation, sustainability, and digital technologies, as part of the scientific conference. The initiative was attended by the Vice-President of the Ribeira Grande Municipal Council, Délia Melo, who welcomed the participants.
Délia Melo highlighted the importance of the event for knowledge sharing, fostering closer ties between the scientific community and the territory, and promoting the municipality internationally. The presence of ICSIMAT in Ribeira Grande also allowed conference attendees to learn about the municipality's identity, heritage, and economic and tourist dynamics.
ICSIMAT brings together researchers, university lecturers, students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and institutional representatives, promoting reflection on the new challenges in marketing, innovation, and tourism. Holding this edition in São Miguel, during a period of lower tourist demand, also aims to reduce seasonality and promote the Azores as a destination capable of hosting scientific and professional events throughout the year.
By hosting part of the ICSIMAT 2026 program, Ribeira Grande reinforces its openness to international events and its commitment to valuing knowledge, innovation, and the territory.
