The Ribeira Grande Municipal Council marked Pink October – Breast Cancer Prevention Month, by holding the Charity Walk “Vive a Vida”, which took place on October 24th, bringing the community together for a moment of fellowship, awareness, and solidarity.

With a gathering point at the Miradouro do Castelo, the initiative invited participants to walk through some of the city's main streets, promoting active and healthy lifestyles and reinforcing the importance of early breast cancer detection.
The route passed through Passeio Atlântico, Rua do Estrela, Avenida José Nunes da Ponte, Avenida de São Pedro, and Rua Areal de Santa Bárbara, involving the population in a cause that calls for attention, health care, and support for those facing the disease.
As part of the Pink October commemorations, the walk reaffirmed the commitment of the Municipality of Ribeira Grande to promoting well-being and mobilizing the community around relevant public health issues.
The solidarity aspect was also present through the purchase of t-shirts related to the initiative, the full proceeds of which go to the cause, associating the participation of the citizens with a message of hope and support.
