The Ministry of Justice and the Regional Government of the Azores have signed a protocol to enhance the training and socio-professional preparation of young inmates, aiming to foster entrepreneurial skills and facilitate their return to society.

The Minister of Justice, Rita Alarcão Júdice, and the Secretary of State for Justice, Gonçalo da Cunha Pires, formalized this Tuesday, at the Angra do Heroísmo Prison Establishment, a cooperation agreement. The protocol seeks to strengthen the training and socio-professional preparation of detained youth.
The initiative includes the implementation of the modality “Activate your potential”, integrated within the Entrepreneurship Academy Program, in the prisons of Ponta Delgada and Angra do Heroísmo.
This program is designed for young inmates up to 35 years old and its main objective is to promote entrepreneurial skills, crucial for their socio-professional reintegration.
