The Angra do Heroísmo City Council has launched a new Conversational Municipal Agenda, which uses artificial intelligence to simplify access for residents and visitors to information about events taking place in the municipality.
The new tool, available on the local authority's website, allows users to search the Municipal Agenda by asking questions in natural language. Users can, for example, inquire about weekend events, activities for children and families, or upcoming concerts, receiving tailored responses.
This Conversational Agenda complements the current Municipal Agenda, offering a new way to access content without needing to install any application. The solution was developed by the local startup O2L.
The Municipality views this initiative as a first experience in using artificial intelligence to enhance citizen interaction, with potential for future application in other areas of municipal services. The tool will also help understand user interests, contributing to improved information dissemination.
As an evolving solution, the platform may occasionally present inaccuracies. The Municipality therefore invites users to try the tool and share their feedback for continuous improvement.

"With this tool, we want to simplify how people find what they are looking for. Instead of demanding that the citizen adapt to how we organize information, we seek for technology to adapt to what each person wants to know."

"Artificial intelligence opens new possibilities for public services, but innovation cannot be an end in itself. It only makes sense when it allows us to remove barriers, simplify access, and provide better service. This Conversational Agenda is a very concrete first step in that direction, and we want it to be used, experienced, and also tested by our residents and visitors."
